Over ten years ago, IGEFA began funding the Psychology Center at the Yerevan State University.

Today, we play a crucial role in collaborating with the center by sponsoring professional development, providing opportunities for continuing education and contributing to their professional library. In 2017 IGEFA sponsored the “Open Doors” project, providing free of charge psychological counseling to victims and families affected by the Artsakh war.

IGEFA has sponsored extensive training for specialists on psychological trauma developed in war zones and the rehabilitation of veterans. We have also sponsored weekend workshops for psychologists and social workers on psychological trauma, crisis intervention, and rehabilitation as well as workshops and consults for school psychologists from the Gyumri region

IGEFA funded the following programs, conducted by the Center:

  • Psychological Assistance

to wounded soldiers and their family members at Central Military Hospital in Yerevan (2016-2017).

Psychologist worked in shifts in the hospital.

  • Psychological counseling

to children from relocated families (April 2016 – present)

  • Intensive training

of psychologists from regions on Adult and Child Crisis Intervention issues (June 23-24, 2017)

  • In cooperation with UNHCR

a 2 day long intensive training at the Centr for 26 psychologists from the regions of Armenia who work with relocated families.

All the services were provided free-of-charge to the participants.
